While this is not a complete list, here are a number of the most recent items that have been recalled in the last several months for various reasons. There have been a number of children-related items, some of which are listed below:

  1. Consumer Alert—Single Packet Laundry & Dish Detergents Post Dangerous and Ongoing Threat to Children! These single packet detergents are a convenience to us, but a tempting and deadly danger to small children. The brightly colored easy to grab packets resemble candy, toys and teethers to small children and many have chewed through or managed to open the packet resulting in at least 17,500 calls to the National Poison Control Hotline in 2013 and resulting in at least one death. The packets contain concentrated amounts of chemicals and can cause severe and sometimes permanent injury to childrenwho ingest them, get them on their skin, or in their eyes. Precautions should be taken to keep these products away from children. Manufacturers are being urged to produce them in opaque and harder to open packaging as well.
  2. My Sweet Love Doll manufactured by Tak Ngai Electronics between August 2012 and March 2014 and distributed by Wal-Mart in stores and online nationwide. The circuit board in the doll’s chest can overheat posing a burn hazard to children.
  3. GunBox Gun Storage Boxes manufactured by GunBox LLC and sold on the company’s website. See GunBox’s website for exact boxes affected www.thegunbox.com. If jostled or dropped, the lock on the box can spring open leaving the gun inside unprotected.
