NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE — With the recent rash of small plane crashes that have occurred — the most recent one in Boca Raton, Florida — Keith Williams of the Keith Williams Law Group says that these private plane operators should take a more proactive approach to caring for their aircraft and checking for anything out of the ordinary.
On April 11, 2025 at approximately 10:30 a.m., a twin-engine, propeller plane left Boca Raton Airport headed towards Tallahassee Airport when the plane began experiencing trouble after takeoff. One witness said the plane tried to return to the airport, but did not make it. The plane crashed on the Tri-Rail Tracks near Interstate 95, killing all three aboard. A motorist who apparently drove through the fiery wreckage was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
“Before any plane takes off to its destination, these companies need to inspect every square inch of their aircraft,” Mr. Williams said. “Any oversight on their part could result in tragic results like what just happened in Florida.”
In addition to his practice, Mr. Williams is the Past Chair of the American Association for Justice’s Aviation Litigation Section, and he is a member of the Aviation and Space Law Committee of the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section. Mr. Williams is also a member and past president of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association.
